Our over two room caters for children aged 2 to 5 years. This group has big inside and outside play areas. In this age group we strive to provide a warm, secure, respectful environment that fosters independence, relationships, communication skills, physical development, social skills, literacy and numeracy for transition to school and so on. To support this, we offer free play and explorations of a wide range of varied, fun experiences that align with children’s interests, as well as stable, predictable routines. During free play, children are offered opportunities to engage in a variety of activities to support their interests, learning development and growth. These include, but are not limited to, arts, crafts, messy play, baking, gardening, carpentry, water play, sandpit play and a range of sensory experiences and so on.
Daily routine for over 2s
7:30 am: Centre opens, , children welcomed and settled. Activities set up for children to play and explore inside and outside.
9:35 am: Tidy up time
9:45 am: Morning mat time
10:00 am: Morning tea
10:30 am: Free play. Art, messy play or crafts activities have been set up inside and outside following to children’s interests.
11:30 am: Tidy up.
11:35am-11:50am: 2-3.5years old children have mat time in room 1, and then wash hands.
11:35am-11:55pm: 3.5-5years old children have mat time in room 2, and then wash hands.
12:00 pm: Lunch
12:30 pm: Afternoon sleep, quiet activities set up for non-sleepers, transition to school programme for 4-5years old children.
1:30 pm: Free play, Art, messy play or crafts activities have been set up inside and outside following to children’s interests.
2:45pm: Afternoon mat time, wash hands
3:00 pm: Afternoon tea
3:30 pm: Free play, tidy up
5:30 pm: Wash hands and late snacks
6:00pm: Centre closes
